Anthology Submissions for Temptation Press

Please Note:

Submission notifications are not sent until after the deadline has been reached.

The Rules:

For Anthologies or Contests:

  • Word counts will vary for different anthologies.  Please see the individual anthology call for submission for word counts.
  • The work must not have previously appeared in print anywhere.  (Yes, this includes electronic forms.)  We do utilize a plagiarism checker to verify if a work has been in print before, and we do report plagiarism.
  • All submissions must be in English. Please use Americanized English (example: Color not colour).
    • In dialog, quotation marks must be double and not single marks (example: “You must be joking.” would be correct, ‘you are not joking’ would be incorrect as we are an American press.)
  • Each author may submit up to three (3) unique works per anthology, please submit them separately.
  • The submission should include a head-shot in .jpg format. Preferably in 300 dpi as we publish in print and electronic versions.
  • A bio is required.
  • Work must be in Microsoft Word or RTF, double spaced, 12 point font, with one-inch margins. Our acquisitions team would be grateful.

What we will not publish – ever:

Temptation Press allows for a fair stretch of leeway when it comes to an author’s creativity, and will consider most story lines, but … we do have standards!

  • Pedophilia.  This means that all characters involved in a sexual situation must be at a bare minimum of 18 years of age. We don’t care what historical period the story is set in.
  • Necrophilia. No sex with a corpse please – of course, Vampires are not technically dead, they are undead.  Snuff scenes will not be accepted either, nor will erotic asphyxiation.
  • Rape. It’s understood that rape may sometimes be used as part of a plot-line, or a character’s backstory, but if it is used for the purpose of stimulating your reader-we will decline your piece. Do not use descriptive rape scenes.
  • Bodily functions. i.e. Golden Showers, toilet play, or anything closely related. Just no.
  • Bestiality. As Vampires are not considered dead, Shape-shifters are not considered beasts.  However, characters can not have relations unless they are in the same form.
  • Incest. This includes step-relatives.
  • Snowballing/Felching. Just no.

Part-Time Opportunity

What does this mean for her home-life? Does your character miss out on the opportunity or grab it with both hands? Does it cause conflict in her life? What does she have to give up to take the opportunity? Is the opportunity legal?

The Professor

Temptation Press is holding open submissions for short stories to be featured in this upcoming collection involving a professor. These stories can be from the students POV or the Professor’s. Is it a tale of seduction, submission, or surrender? By whom? We are looking for lessons learned more than happily-ever-afters, however, we certainly don’t mind a HEA.
